A North Queensland man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his older housemate. The 64-year-old was found dead on Wednesday afternoon by paramedics doing a welfare check.

Mackay police Superintendent Shane Holmes said 64-year-old Colin Thomas Grohs was found unresponsive, and was declared dead. Samuel Luke Muntelwit, 33, was arrested at the scene and appeared in the Mackay Magistrate's Court on Friday morning via video link.Mackay police Superintendent Shane Holmes speaks to the media.Superintendent Holmes said the two men were known to each other.He said police understood Mr Muntelwit had been living at the home in some capacity over a short period of time.He said he didn't believe any weapons were used during an altercation between the two men.
"With the investigations the detectives conduct, they'll look at all previous calls for service, if there were any to that particular address," Superintendent Holmes said.
