San Antonio FC notched a fourth consecutive clean sheet and created further separation atop the USL Championship standings with a 2-0 win against Las Vegas Lights FC on Wednesday at Cashman Field in Las Vegas.
In the past six matches, SAFC has allowed just one goal and eight shots on target, with Lights putting a pair of attempts on frame Wednesday. San Antonio leads the league with 11 clean sheets and only 14 goals conceded on the year. SAFC stretched its season-best winning streak to six games, creating a six-point cushion ahead of any other team in the league.
Saad Abdul-Salaam scored the opening goal for San Antonio — his first in four matches with SAFC — in the 34th minute, when he deflected the ball into the net following Justin Dhillon’s initial redirection from the near post off a corner kick. Samuel Adeniran extended SAFC’s lead and scored his fifth goal in eight matches with the club during the 64th minute.
