Former Texas state senator Leticia Van de Putte has been moved to University Hospital’s Reeves Rehabilitation Center, where she is undergoing physical and occupational therapy after she suffered serious injuries when hit by a vehicle in the Orlando, Florida area almost three weeks ago. She remains in good condition.

“All the prayers, flowers and cards have really encouraged her as she travels the long and painful journey to full recovery,” Pete Van de Putte wrote. “Please keep her in your prayers. They are working.” The accident happened on the afternoon of April 3 when Leticia Van de Putte was walking in a designated crosswalk while she had a pedestrian signal indicating it was time for her to cross. While she was in the crosswalk, she was struck by a 2017 Nissan Armada driven by an Illinois man, who was making a right turn.and landed on her head in a roadway, one witness told the San Antonio Express-News.
