Meet in Clovis sees 4 individual and 3 relay marks rewritten; University City's Kathryn Hazle becomes third San Diego girl to win state title

Coronado senior Sam Quarles, University City senior Kathryn Hazle and Torrey Pines junior Logan Noguchi each improved on their own marks from the San Diego Section meet a week ago at Clovis West High School on Saturday.

“It’s his mentality,’’ Coronado coach Paul Folts said by phone. “Every time he got into the pool, he kept believing more and more, and he kept learning about his capabilities.’’ Noguchi improved his record in the boys 100 fly with a fourth-place finish. In addition, he contributed to the Falcons’ marks in the 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay .

The Falcons set another mark in the 400 free relay in eighth place, surpassing the record set in 2018 by La Costa Canyon.
