SAN FRANCISCO – A San Francisco Police Department officer is facing felony charges of grand theft, insurance fraud and identity theft, according to the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office.
Eatia in March 2019 obtained another policy through Allstate Insurance in the name of his friend, the owner of the car, who was not aware of the second policy. Prosecutors said Eatia allegedly impersonated the owner and forged his signature to secure the policy. Altogether, Eatia is charged with one count of grand theft by false pretenses, two counts of insurance fraud, one count of forgery and one count of identity theft, according to prosecutors.
