The county medical examiner’s office confirmed that he died of a stab wound in his neck.

Responding police located Gaeta with the help of a fruit vendor who reported that minutes before the stabbing, Gaeta slashed at him at his stand a mile away near Hellyer County Park. The vendor, who traveled from Mexico to testify in the murder trial, gave police a photo of Gaeta’s car and license plate.
