Hawaii transfer quarterback and two Nevada transfers at wide receiver making an early impact on offense.

SAN JOSE — It’s easy to argue that no opponent knows the San Jose State defense in Brent Brennan’s five years in charge better than former Hawaii quarterback Chevan Cordeiro.

Cordeiro is the second former opponent to transfer in and take the helm of the Spartan offense in recent seasons, following in Nick Starkel’s shoes. “I feel like I knew what kind of culture this team had, and once I got here, they were treating me like family,” Cordeiro said. “That’s what I was looking for, was a second family that I could go to and not feel homesick.”

As for the head coach, he’s seen the Spartan offense win some battles against a defense that returns all but one starter .
