Officers went to the scene and talked with the woman who had been driving the Tesla, which, they said, appeared to have left the roadway and hit a fence and a tree before colliding with the front of the residence.Officers initiated a DUI investigation and at the conclusion, they determined that Whittinghill was under the influence at a level that impaired her ability to drive a motor vehicle, according to police.
Based on the DUI investigation, evidence on scene, and the injury to a resident police describe as being a result of the collision, Whittinghill was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI that caused injury, police said.
