Playing small ball, Santana High ran, slashed and bunted its way to a San Diego Section Division 1 baseball championship Friday evening at San Diego State’s Tony Gwynn Stadium before a large crowd.
“This is a special group,” Ledezma said. “At the beginning of the season, no one thought we were a championship team — no one. But the guys on the team thought we were special.” Jayden Agramont also scored twice while Caden Corderman, Bradley Phillips and Luke Nash both had an RBI and scored a run. Henry never got more than one runner on base after the first inning and had only two other runners get as far as second base.
