It's easy to start claiming the money, with First Direct and Ulster also making the offer
Bank switching season is upon us and there is a record amount of money on offer to people from major banks including RBS, Natwest, Lloyds, Santander and HSBC.
The total amount of money on offer from the big banks listed here currently stands at £1,235 but there are even more benefits, like a 7% savings rate from Santander, and monthly cashback offers which could push that total even higher.Switching is easy as well, thanks to the easy switch service that all the major banks have signed up to.
Santander is offering £185 but it will also give access to its 7% savings account and monthly cashback worth 1% on bills and 1% on regular spending, making the total cash available after a year as much as £565.The various accounts offer different benefits though so the exact amount of cash up front is only the tip of the iceberg.
