A San Antonio officer fired in 2016 for giving a homeless man a sandwich with feces in the middle has been released from another law enforcement agency.

Matthew Luckhurst gained employment with the Floresville Police Department , also in Texas, after he faced disciplinary action at the San Antonio Police Department for the “fecal sandwich” situation. “This was a vile and disgusting act that violates our guiding principles of ‘treating all with integrity, compassion, fairness and respect,’” said San Antonio Police Chief William McManus in reference to the 2016 incident. “The fact that his fellow officers were so disgusted with his actions that they reported him to Internal Affairs demonstrates that this type of behavior will never be tolerated.

Upon learning the full extent of Luckhurst’s wrongdoing at his last job, FPD responded to the matter.Floresville Mayor Cecelia “Cissy” Gonzalez-Dippel confirmed Luckhurst’s job dismissal following a letter she posted to Facebook.In a pinned comment to the post, Mayor Gonzalez-Dippel said, “Upon verifying with Floresville City Manager Andy Joslin, Mr. Luckhurst was released from employment from the city of Floresville...
