Prepare for a new look on the SATs: the classic college admissions test will now be online and shorter, the College Board said.
Updated: Jan. 25, 2022, 10:11 a.m. |The SAT test will soon transition to a shorter, fully-online format that its organizers say will reduce the time students wait for results from weeks to a matter of days.
The new format on the test, which high school students typically take before applying to college, will roll out in 2024 in the United States and in 2023 in other countries. The PSAT will make similar changes in 2023. Natalia Cossio, an 11th grade student in Fairfax County, Virginia, said the online test pilot was “a lot less stressful, and whole lot quicker” than she thought it would be.
