Prince Royce presented Raúl Alarcón Jr. with the award
Raúl Alarcón Jr., chairman and CEO of Spanish Broadcasting System, was honored with the Businessperson of the Year Award at the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s 40th anniversary National Convention in Albuquerque, N.W. The award was presented by recording artistAs CEO and chairman of SBS, Raúl Alarcón oversees 17 Spanish-language radio stations in the top Latin markets in the U.S. and LaMusica app.
Every year, USHCC recognizes an entrepreneur because of his outstanding leadership, pioneering spirit and social and economic contributions. “As an immigrant from Cuba, this is proof that the U.S. is truly the land of opportunity, where we can live the American Dream through hard work, a clear vision and the support of amazing organizations like the USHCC,” Alarcón said of the honor in a press statement.
Alarcón joined SBS in 1983 as an account executive and has been president and director since October 1985 and CEO since June 1994. On Nov. 2, 1999, Mr. Alarcón, became chairman of the Board of Directors and continues as CEO and president.
