Skybridge founder Anthony Scaramucci says sceptics haven’t done as much homework as the top hedge funds when it comes to crypto-currencies.

Anthony Scaramucci, the outspoken founder of asset manager Skybridge Capital and former adviser to Donald Trump, has urged investors to ignore Warren Buffett, Larry Fink and Jamie Dimon and defer to the hedge fund greats that he says have done their homework.

“There has been [the] pandemic, global wars and genocides and apparently bitcoin is the worst thing for civilisation. Bitcoin doesn’t care,” Mr Scaramucci said of Mr Munger’s comments.“If you’re not long crypto you’ll effectively be shorted, why not get ahead of that curve and own a little bit of a today?”

Mr Scaramucci went to Harvard Law School before joining Goldman Sachs. He created a financial advisory firm that he sold to Neuberger Berman before founding Skybridge, a hedge fund of funds. The Mooch, as he is affectionately known, temporarily divested his stake in Skybridge to take a role as president Trump’s communication adviser in 2017 but lasted just 11 days.

But he said “the best thing that Republicans have going for them are the Democrats. These guys are also nuts.” “But in Washington, they’re experiencing something called a DLO, which is a decentralised lobbying organisation. This is the 3 million people in the US that own cryptocurrency.”
