German Chancellor Olaf Scholz cautioned voters against allowing social media platforms and their owners to dictate the outcome of next year's election. His warning follows repeated endorsements of the far-right Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) party by Elon Musk on X, formerly Twitter. Scholz emphasized that the future of Germany should be decided by its citizens, not by the algorithms or biases of social media.
The German chancellor, Olaf Scholz, has urged voters not to let the “owners of social media channels” decide next year’s snap election, after Elon Musk repeatedly endorsed the far-right party Alternative für Deutschland .
