A multi-storey building collapses in Nigeria's commercial capital of Lagos, trapping children attending a private school, according to a local emergency agency.

School children are among those feared trapped in a building that collapsed in Nigeria's commercial capital of Lagos on Wednesday morning , an emergency agency spokesman said.

Little information is available, but images on social media show emergency teams at the scene, with a child being rescued and carried away through a crowd of people."It is believed that many people including children are currently trapped in the building," Mr Farinloye said.Tweet Social Nigeria UPDATE: Many pupils are feared dead while others are trapped in a school building located in Ita Faji, Lagos Island, that collapsed earlier today.
