A bus that was briefly reported missing Thursday morning after elementary students weren’t dropped off at their Somerset County, New Jersey, school was found minutes later in a neighboring town after the driver had a medical problem and crashed, officials said. None of the 20 students on the bus were injured in the crash, according to police. The bus was supposed to drop them off atThe driver became disoriented due to a “medical incident,” left Warren and eventually pulled into a parking lot in Bridgewater where the bus crashed into a parked vehicle, Warren police and school officials said in a joint statement.
Students were taken to school on another bus after Bridgewater police alerted Warren police and school officials that the missing bus had been found. The crash took place at about 9:45 a.m. in a parking lot on West Chimney Rock Road, about five miles south of the school, according to Bridgewater police.
Bridgewater police said the bus struck a parked trailer. The 80-year-old driver was taken to a hospital to be treated.
