The Premier says returning to school for term three next week will be 'business as usual' in regional Victoria but many Melbourne students will get an extra week of holidays.

"[It will] give us some more time to plan, some more time to get more data and to see exactly the most contemporary picture of the challenge that we face," he said.The extra week of school holidays will only apply for metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire.Year 11 and 12 students will still go back to school for term three on July 13.
The Premier also said he doesn't want metropolitan VCE students to fall out of step with their regional counterparts.

Business as usual.\n\n'And for the rest of our kids we will make further announcements quite soon.\n\n'For those who are the children of essential workers or people who simply can’t work from home, there will be supervised school holiday programs for them and there is a week’s extension of the school holidays to give us some more time to plan, some more time to get more data and to see exactly the most contemporary picture of the challenge that we face.”\n
