Founder and CEO of SchoolAid Sean Gordon says he started fire relief appealthe initiative to allow children to “have a channel to make a difference”.
SchoolAid has been running campaigns across schools around Australia which encourages youth philanthropy through various campaigns.
“Children who are far away from firegrounds who are watching the images on TV are actually impacted as well, and it disturbs them. If we give them channel, they can feel better about themselves, their place in the world, and to put things into perspective,” Mr Gordon told Sky News. “We want to help the fire victims, and we want to make sure our children feel hopeful”.
