Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced all schools in south-east Queensland will be closed and people have been urged to work from home as flooding continues.

Six people have now died as a result of the flooding, with the body of a 34-year-old Moorooka man discovered in Indooroopilly after his car became submerged in floodwaters at 2.30am on Sunday. Late on Sunday, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said plans were underway for a cleanup operation and government disaster payments would be available.“The key message that we have is it important for people to keep safe - people should not be driving around and looking at this event and sightseeing on those things,” Mr Morrison said.

“What are we doing? Are we packing up and moving to higher ground, are we evacuating or are we staying home like we did during the pandemic and waiting ?”
