Some of Sydney’s independent schools are devising remote learning timetables and curtailed school events calendars for when school returns in two weeks’ time
, while Premier Gladys Berejiklian has revealed the Education Department is also considering all its options as the state waits to see how the coronavirus outbreak unfolds.
Pymble Ladies College was running remote learning refreshment sessions on Wednesday, with staff and students partaking in short around-the-house activities on Microsoft Teams to re-familiarise themselves with the technology. The school is planning how it would lock down specific year groups, preparing remote learning timetables and considering live-streamed parent events.
The diocese - which covers 78 schools and 43,000 students - is also planning for various scenarios, including schools returning as normal, a staged return of year groups at different times, or a switch back to remote learning.
