Templestowe College does not set homework outside VCE, runs classes based on ability not age and develops personalised learning plans for each student.
Templestowe College’s Abbas Khan, Jasmine King, Kiannah Dower, Peter Ellis , Bonnie-Mai Smith, Ethan Pearce, Samuel Yoannidis, Megan Hanel and Jeremy Green.“A lot of our students, they’d be a success in any school. But they find with us, they can really thrive because they can study at their pace, and they don’t come out of the system damaged. That’s the comment we hear from students,” he said.
“For some families, the great data that students are achieving is validation around the model. There’s always doubt around this program. Does it actually work? The data shows that it does,” Ellis said. Ellis said students were highly engaged with their studies because they could follow their areas of passion, and lessons were pitched at their level rather than their age.
