The banning of mobile phones in schools is a good move.
Congratulations to the state government for banning mobile phones during school hours, despite “no scientific evidence” that this benefits students . Some time ago I was a supervisor in a boarding school where it was decided, as many residential schools did, that mobile phones would be collected in the evenings and locked away until morning. At first there were complaints, even from parents who thought it quite acceptable to chat to their children at all hours.
Plane tree pollen has been dropping and floating like snow around this area for months, sitting in brown piles on footpaths and in gutters, or whipped up by strong winds, causing violent sneezing and coughing as the pollen spikes get stuck in noses, throats and eyes; and, as a bonus, the tiny spores attach to skin, hair and clothing so we even bring them home with us to prolong the misery indoors.
