A scientist hopes to learn more about the exact age of the iconic record-breaking saltwater crocodile Cassius, believed to be up to 120 years old, after the croc died at the weekend.
Scientists are working to preserve the legacy of the world's largest saltwater crocodile in captivity after the "iconic" reptile, believed to be up to 120 years old,
"My plan is to send it to a lab that can cross-section it and look for growth rings, just like in trees," Dr Isberg said.Dr Isberg said Cassius's skin and head have also been preserved. He said Cassius would have been about 5.8 metres if he still had part of his snout and the end of his tail intact on capture.
Mr Craig's grandson Toody Scott said despite battle scars from croc fights and bouts with boat propellers, the reptile had charm.
