Liam Kelly says playing well for Motherwell is always going to be key for him to be in Scotland squads
Liam Kelly has his sights set on the Scotland squad for Euro 2024 in Germany – and that has to be good news for Motherwell.
He said: “Every Scottish player will see that as the target, but I’m just going through the process – how important it is to try and train well and play well for your club, because the gaffer at Scotland always tells you he’s watching your club form.Kelly says he always knew Gordon would bounce back from the double leg break he sustained in December 2022 and says he’s possibly the best Scotland has ever seen.“I never had any doubts that big Craig would come back,” he said.
“It’s never personal; it’s nothing to do with you, cos you’re not picking the team. It’s nothing to do with the guy who is playing, and relationships between members of the squad should never deteriorate.” “I’ve played against Malky MacKay’s teams now since he has been at Ross County and it’s always difficult, so I’m really looking forward to it.
