Poachers have dumped dozens of dead animals outside a shop following a spate of "horrific" incidents. Villagers in Broughton, Hampshire, have been left shocked after being tormented with randomly plotted corpses each week. The perpetrators have previously targeted farms, and have even left 27 bloodied rabbits outside a primary school. In the latest incident, dozens of hares were seen scattered across the entrance of Broughton Community Shop on Thursday night.
Staff said they were shocked to discover that a barn owl and kestrel had also been impaled on the door handles, with the windows smothered in guts and blood in the gruesome scene. Residents suspect the poachers are covering their streets in corpses as part of a threatening "message" to ensure they stay out of their business. It's believed to be linked to gangs who front international gambling syndicates.
