A 12-hour rain alert has been issued for north and northeast Scotland as 'quite persistent' rain could flood homes and businesses.
The wet summer weather Scotland has been experiencing has sparked an overnight alert. Starting at 10pm Friday evening, a yellow warning for rain will come into effect until 10am Saturday morning.
This evening an area of heavy and "quite persistent" rain is developing across regions of north and northeast Scotland. The downpour will continue overnight before becoming showery on Saturday morning.
