A furious Scots couple had to abandon a £3k shopping trip to New York after they were left sitting on the runway at Edinburgh airport for six hours.
The couple's connecting flight from London Heathrow to New York left early this morning so they had to abandon their holiday. The pilot of the aircraft had apparently tried to contact British Airways headquarters in London and was "left in limbo" alongside the passengers. "We were basically told to go home, log onto BA's website and rebook there. Except it crashed and all the phone lines were jammed.
