Sebastián Garrido was left scurrying around for new digs after his old landlord decided to sell the flat he was leasing.
A Scots student compared flat hunting to the 'Hunger Games' after a desperate hunt to find somewhere to live. Sebastián Garrido, 33, is currently studying for a Ph.D. in palaeoceanography at Heriot-Watt but was left in a rut after his landlord announced he was selling the property last month.
"It is really frustrating, even when I tried to speak to estate agents, it's all online. Most of the time you can't speak to a real person and then just no one would get back to me. I didn't really get many viewings. Top news stories today Sebastián decided to go on social media in an attempt at 'buddying up' with others in a bid to find a flat. He added: "Even some people were offering a room for a month or a couple of weeks if I didn't have something. Which was really kind but not ideal."
