Our star man thought he had fired us into a 1-0 lead in Seville and his papa couldn't believe it was ruled out.
Scotland hero Scott McTominay's grandpa shared his anger in the wake of the Manchester United star's goal being cruelly chopped off against Spain.
Our star man thought he had fired us into a 1-0 lead in Seville with just 30 minutes remaining only for VAR to flag under-fire whistler Serdar Gozubuyuk to check his monitor. It appeared the goal was ruled out for a foul judging by both the signal used by the Dutchman and the official line from UEFA, however it was altered 10 minutes later with Jack Hendry adjudged to have been offside.
And the ire within the McTominay family wasn't limited to the Man United man as his papa weighed in on a video shared on social media. He said: "I thought that was my winning goal, I was very disappointed when that was wiped". And that was a sentiment shared by every Scotland fan on the planet as La Roja rebounded with two goals to hand Steve Clarke's achievers their first defeat in Group A.
But McTominay came bearing gifts as he presented his ultimate supporter with Atletico Madrid star Alvaro Morata's match-worn shirt as Spain breathed new life into their pursuit of finishing above us in our section on the road to Germany next summer.
