Former Prime Minister Scott Morrison has been called on to give evidence after crucial legalities were omitted from the setup phase of Robodebt.
Scott Morrison oversaw the design implementation and scrutiny of the debt recovery scheme in his roles as Social Services Minister, Treasurer and later Prime Minister.
Former Human Services Minister Marise Payne, who worked closely with Mr Morrison during the Robodebt project, has told the commissioned inquiry she has no recollection of why or how such a crucial recommendation over the legality of the scheme could have possibly been omitted.
