In a rare move, parliament is expected to formally condemn his behaviour.
Cabinet will today discuss a push by Labor backbench MPs to formally sanction Morrison for being secretly sworn in to run additional portfolios.It comes after the release of the inquiry's report last Friday by former High Court judge Virginia Bell into the saga.The last time an MP was formally censured in federal parliament was in 2018.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese yesterday said Morrison, who remains a Coalition backbench MP, should issue a public apology. "What I'm interested in is the relationship or lack thereof between Scott Morrison and the Australian people."I didn't see any contrition in Scott Morrison's statement last Friday, and I find that just extraordinary, that anyone can read the Bell Inquiry and not be embarrassed if you're the subject of it."The Bell inquiry concluded it was "unnecessary" for Morrison to appoint himself as the secret minister for finance and health.
