Sky News contributor Andrew Clennell says Prime Minister Scott Morrison is having the "best year of his political career," as the Coalition continues to edge ahead of Labor in the latest Newspoll figures released on Sunday evening.
The last Newspoll of the year revealed the Coalition was in front of Labor on a two-party-preferred vote, 52 to 48, an improvement for the government since the last poll. Scott Morrison remained on top with a two per cent boost to 48 per cent, compared to 34 for Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese, for preferred prime minster. Mr Clennell said the result has come off the back of Scott Morrison's "magic election victory".
