Former prime minister Scott Morrison has given up his position as the number one ticket holder at NRL side Cronulla Sharks. He announced his decision on social media, stating that it was time to pass on the title after retiring from politics. Former prime minister Scott Morrison has confirmed he has relinquished top supporter status at his hometown rugby league club. Mr Morrison took to social media on Friday to explain his decision to hand back the "number one ticket holder" title to NRL side Cronulla Sharks . He said he advised Sharks CEO Dino Mezzatesta that it was now time to give up the title after retiring from politics as the Member for Cook.
Mr Morrison said he would remain a "passionate supporter" of the Sharks, adding it was an "honour" to be the top ticket holder for the past eight seasons. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my association with the club in this role and am deeply grateful for the club giving me that honour," he said.
