The woman whose hand Scott Morrison forcibly shook in the bushfire-ravaged town of Cobargo is living in a van with her newborn baby, more than six months after her home was destroyed. 9News

Opposition leader Anthony Albanese has called on the Prime Minister to visit the new mum and witness the hardship of communities still struggling in the aftermath of the bushfire crisis.

Scott Morrison has been savaged over his visit to the NSW fire-ravaged community of Cobargo, where local woman Zoey McDermott told him she wouldn't shake his hand unless he offered more support to local fire crews. The Prime Minister shook her hand anyway, then appeared to turn his back on her as she asked him to help.

"Sit down with people like young Zoey, the young mum who greeted him in Cobago asking for more RFS support. Labor leader Anthony Albanese and Labor endorsed candidate Kristy McBain meet a local resident of Cobargo ahead of the Eden-Monaro byelection. "She has now given birth to her young son that she was pregnant with when she met Scott Morrison. She is living in a van with her young son. She is asking for more support for this community."Related
