Prime Minister Scott Morrison has released his annual Christmas message. This year, the PM is encouraging everyone keep those who are doing it tough in their thoughts. 9News

"There are six families in Devonport in northern Tasmania, from the Hillcrest Primary School this Christmas, who are completely devastated," Mr Morrison said. "This Christmas we'll shed a tear and raise up prayers for them, I believe right across the country."Mr Morrison also acknowledged that while many Australians will be gathering for the first time in a while, many will also be alone this Christmas.
He said that the pandemic, especially the emergence of the Omicron variant, has continued to rattle the country.The Prime Minister also thanked Australians who are working around the Christmas period."They are driving trucks, delivering critical supplies, they're giving us our booster shots and doing our COVID tests.
