Scottish Water has announced the hike to pay for water supply and waste water services.
It means that on top of the council tax, which is yet to be set, a Band D home in Glasgow will pay £502 for the year.The highest level, Band H, will pay £1004 for water charges on top of the council tax.
Scottish Water said the increase in its charges amounts to an average of 37p per week that works out at a £20 a year increase.
