SeaofThieves' upcoming 2022 preview event will feature a boatload of details about the game's 'biggest year yet.'
A new Sea of Thieves teaser from developer Rare promises 2022 will be the game's"biggest year" to date, which players can learn more about when a boatload of fresh details go live later this week. The pirate-themed adventure entered murky waters upon its 2018 release on PC and Xbox One. Fortunately, Rare has found a way to steer things in the right direction, with several notable updates that eventually saw Sea of Thieves top 25 million players worldwide.
2021 marked a particularly big year for the online title, thanks in no small part to the addition of three-month long seasons. Notably, Season 1 kicked off in late January, ushering in free and premium content including new events, rewards, and more. The summer months proved an especially exciting time for Sea of Thieves faithful, especially once Rare unleashed its"A Pirate's Life" Season 3 crossover with Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean.
How the crew at Rare plans on topping its incredibly well-received Sea of Thieves support in 2021 remains a mystery at present. But it sounds as though fans are in for quite a few surprises come this Thursday. Inspired by popular survival games like DayZ and Rust, Sea of Thieves lets players set sail on the open seas to forge whatever pirate life they so desire. Exploring, looting, sailing, and fighting all play a part in the grander scheme of things, and it's all accentuated by Rare's clever open-ended design. It's clear the studio's long-term plans for the adventure won't soon come to an end.Sea of Thieves is playable across PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S platforms. .
