“The world today knows that Igor Girkin, Sergey Dubinsky and Leonid Kharchenko downed an aircraft and murdered 298 people on board and are now sentenced for life.Asked whether the sentences handed down in absentia were a hollow conclusion to the long and painful legal process, Wong said: “the truth is never hollow”.
“The world knows who they are, and the families and friends of those who were murdered know who they are, and a court has found them guilty, and those things matter.”
