Tony Andeliero's aluminium fishing boat was found floating in the waters south of Wollongong on Friday night, prompting a multi-agency search.
The search for the father and grandfather, who was an experienced local skipper, is expected to resume on Monday. Mr Andeliero's daughter, Kayla Andeliero, said the family was trying to remain positive, but as the days passed they were not 'overly optimistic' he would be found alive.Ms Andeliero said her father had gone for a fish on his boat like he had on Friday 'a million times before'.'He got that boat when I was a baby.'He's a really good dad and he's a really good pop to his four grandkids.'The search resumed at 8am today, with the area extended from Wollongong further south to Point Perpendicular in Jervis Bay. Stuart Massey from Marine Rescue Illawarra said the team was doing its best despite tough conditions, including strong winds.'The currents change and they shift but with local knowledge and technology we're able to have a reasonably good idea and look in the area with the highest probability.The search is expected to resume on Monday, pending weather conditions
