A major search operation is underway in the Blue Mountains for two hikers, aged 69 and 81, who have been missing since Friday. The pair went for a bushwalk from a campground in Megalong Valley last Wednesday and intended to return on Friday. 9News MORE:
The men, aged 69 and 81, are believed to have started their bushwalk at Dunphy's campground in the Megalong Valley.A search has resumed today for two bushalkers who failed to return home from hike last week.Officers from the Blue Mountains Police Area Command launched a search for the men after they were notified.
Police have found a car belonging to the missing 81-year-old man in the car park of Dunphy's campground. Both men are reported to be regular and experienced bushwalkers and police said they believe the planned walk would have been within their capabilities.For 40 minutes, Americans thought their nation had come under attack
A command post has been established the Rescue Squad and SES Bush Search and Rescue are assisting police with the search.
