For those uninitiated,is Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin, and Jennifer Flackett's ode to all that is watch-through-your-fingers awkward about adolescence. Following best friends Nick Birch and Andrew Glouberman as they make their uncertain way through seventh grade, the cartoon features the likes of Jenny Slate, Jason Mantzoukas, Jordan Peele, and Maya Rudolph, all doing the voice-acting work of their careers.

The season has some early misses—an episode about cell-phone addiction veers into after-school-special territory—but a lot of hits too, widening its scope to give minor characters fully realized arcs.
