"What's wrong with pulling up a bus and checking them to see are wearing seatbelts," he said.Director of Allens Coaches Brett Allen said despite campaigns from Transport NSW, passengers were still not wearing seatbelts on buses and coaches."A lot of the time, you can look up at the revision mirror and they haven't got them on."
Mr McCormack, who is a former minister for transport, said it was difficult for bus drivers to monitor seatbelts because there was no seatbelt warning in the vehicle. NSW Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Jenny Aitchison said about 30 people a year die in NSW as a result of not wearing a seatbelt and 76 are injured.
