The Seattle Police Department has identified the officer who struck and killed a pedestrian with a patrol vehicle last week as Officer Kevin Austin Dave.

Dave was responding to an emergency call on Jan. 23 when he hit 23-year-old Jaahnavi Kandula near Dexter Avenue North and Thomas Street just after 8 p.m.

Police said that the circumstances leading up to the collision are under investigation, and that available information would be shared at a later time.
