NSW Health has identified a second case of monkeypox in Sydney - which is not connected to the first case reported in NSW on May 20.
The man is currently in hospital and lives alone, with investigations identifying no high-risk contacts who are required to isolate. The incubation period of monkeypox is usually from six to 13 days but can range from five to 21 days, according to the World Health Organisation.
NSW's Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant said the community do not need to be concerned by the risk of the virus, which is a rare viral infection that does not spread easily between people.
