Donald Trump told to boost his security at golf courses if he wants to keep playing weekly after another suspected attempted assassination in Florida: reports

However, one Secret Service agent protecting the 78-year-old businessman had spotted a gun barrel poking through the fence line and opened fire in the direction. Roland Lowe Jr, the agency's Acting Director, met with Trump at his office and home in Mar-a-Lago on Monday afternoon, The New York Times reported.

The acting Secret Service boss also noted it depended on which venue Trump was at, given he owns at least 12 golf courses in the US and others overseas.Photographers have previously been able to snap the 78-year-old, with the agency suggesting if paparazzi could spot him then so too could a shooter with a scope.

According Trump International Golf Club website, the 18-hole course is spread over 133 hectares, and is adjoined to public streets accessible for locals. Routh did not have a line of sight to the Republican, Secret Service say, and he was luckily spotted by an agent who was scanning the golf course for threats.
