Mary Grace GranadosThe Lakewood Home Tour is back this November after two years of “modified” home tours due to the pandemic, according to a press release. Six homes will be open for the tour from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12 and Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022. A bonus, seventh home will be open only during the Candlelight Home Tour portion, which will take place from 7-9:30 p.m. on Nov. 12. This evening portion of the tour requires special tickets.
The 46th annual home tour is hosted by the Lakewood Early Childhood PTA. The event raises funds for the community’s Dallas Independent School District schools, including Lakewood Elementary School, J.L. Long Middle School and Woodrow Wilson High School, the release said. In 2020 and 2021, the home tour was limited to the exterior portions of the homes, event co-chair Stephanie Bowen Wright said. In 2020, it was a drive-by tour and, in 2021, the tour took place in the home’s yards. This year, attendees can tour the interior of the homes.
Bowen Wright said that the tour’s selection committee worked to pick homes that “have a little something for everybody.” The seven homes on the tour represent a variety of styles and were built during different time periods, with some recently built and others nearly 100 years old.
