In the translated text of the 911 call, the staff member said the guest appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol and was “breaking the whole room”. The staff member said they could not gather any further information as they could not gain entry back into Payne’s room. Local media published pictures that allegedly depicted the inside of Payne’s hotel room, with what appears to be drug paraphernalia scattered across a table, including white powder and burnt aluminium foil on top of a table.
