Seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver complex information technology projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of project management methodologies, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record of successful project delivery.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing organizational projects utilizing appropriate Project Management methodologies. This includes structuring the business case for identified project concepts and conducting cost/benefit analyses when necessary. A key responsibility is developing detailed project plans adhering to approved FIC project management methodologies and processes.
The individual will drive project performance, actively managing project components and workstreams, while resolving quality and design issues that arise. They will integrate various project design components, encompassing processes, people, and technology dimensions. Applying FIC's project and business analysis methodologies and practices in a suitable manner is crucial. Empowering project stakeholders through project information and feedback to facilitate informed decisions at the Steering Committee level is another vital aspect.The role demands a single point of focus for all project issues, governance, risk escalation, and consideration of alternative project options. Monitoring, controlling, and communicating project progress using established reporting standards (status reports, etc.) is essential. Mechanisms must be established to assess the realization of benefits outlined in the business case. Risk monitoring and the implementation of prevention and mitigation procedures, as required, are also key responsibilities. The candidate must ensure all project aspects are managed transparently, including methodologies and deliverables such as project management, change management, system development life cycle, and business analysis.Managing project teams, reviewing, and quality assuring their work, as well as coordinating Steering Committee activities in consultation with the Sponsor, are integral duties. The successful candidate will engage with diverse stakeholders to manage expectations and ensure successful project delivery. A relevant undergraduate University Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or Commerce, is essential. Other degrees will be considered if their relevance can be demonstrated. Minimum six (6) years of broad-based information systems and business experience, along with a minimum of six (6) years in project management and demonstrated management/supervisory experience in systems development/integration are required. Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word, are essential. Excellent time management, management skills encompassing financial and accounting operations management, program/project management skills and experience are crucial. Professional development skills such as oral and written communication, personal credibility, teamwork and collaboration, work planning, and estimating are highly valued. Supervisory skills and the ability to leverage support from other organizational parts are essential. The candidate must manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, monitor their progress, and ensure adherence to contracts. Ensuring the project team adheres to all quality assurance processes, including peer reviews and transitions, is crucial. PMP preferred certification is an added advantage
