Queen Margrethe II of Denmark tested positive for COVID after her attendance at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in London. 7NEWS
The Danish palace said the heir to the throne Frederik and Mary would take the Queen’s place hosting a dinner with Danish government officials and members of parliament while Margrethe recovers.At the time, the palace said she had received three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.
Margrethe was proclaimed Queen on January 15, 1972, a day after her father, King Frederik IX, died following a short illness. The foreign office apologised via the Danish Embassy for the “regrettable error” due to sending 2000 invitations in such a short time, a spokesperson told Danish news outlet BT.
